Commercial Licensing for Digital Designs
Canadian Gifts & Designs includes a limited small business licence with every digital design purchase. This licence is intended for handmade makers, sublimation sellers, craft fair vendors, boutique sellers, and small business owners who personally create and sell finished physical products using our designs.
Your purchase allows you to use the design to create and sell finished physical products that you personally make yourself, up to 100 finished physical items per purchased design.
Examples of allowed finished physical products include tumblers, mugs, shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, signs, ornaments, home decor, gift items, and other handmade or small-batch physical products.
The original digital file may not be resold, shared, gifted, copied, uploaded, distributed, or transferred in any digital format.
Included Small Business Licence
Included with every digital design purchase.
Allows up to 100 finished physical products per purchased design.
For handmade and small-batch sellers who personally create the finished products themselves.
Allowed for vendor markets, craft fairs, social media sales, local shops, online shops, and small business sales.
Does not allow resale, sharing, distribution, or gifting of the digital file.
Does not allow the design to be used for digital products, design bundles, print-on-demand platforms, transfers, decals, stickers, or outsourced manufacturing without additional permission.
Extended Commercial Licence
An Extended Commercial Licence is required if you would like to produce and sell more than 100 finished physical products using the same design.
This licence is suitable for makers who have a best-selling product, repeat orders, a growing customer base, or plans to produce higher quantities of the same design.
An Extended Commercial Licence may be purchased for an individual design or, when available, for a design bundle or collection.
This licence still does not allow resale, sharing, gifting, uploading, or distribution of the digital file itself. It only expands the number of finished physical products you may create and sell using the purchased design.
Production Licence
A Production Licence is required for larger-scale commercial use, wholesale production, outsourced production, retail product lines, multiple staff/users, or repeated production beyond normal handmade small business use.
This licence is reviewed and quoted individually based on the design, product type, production quantity, sales channel, and intended use.
Please contact Canadian Gifts & Designs before beginning production if you plan to use a design for wholesale, manufacturing, large-batch production, team use, outsourced production, or any commercial use beyond the included Small Business Licence.
Print-on-Demand Use
Print-on-demand use is not included with standard purchases or the included Small Business Licence.
Uploading Canadian Gifts & Designs files to print-on-demand platforms or third-party production platforms is not permitted unless written permission has been granted and the appropriate licence has been purchased.
This includes platforms where the digital file may be uploaded, stored, accessed, reproduced, or fulfilled by a third-party service.
